About the role
We’re looking for a DevOps / Platform Engineer to build and operate the infrastructure behind Shortifi. Our redirect path needs to be fast, reliable, and globally distributed. You’ll own the deployment pipeline, monitoring stack, and production infrastructure — making sure every short link resolves in milliseconds.
What you’ll do
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and containerised deployments
- Manage production infrastructure: PostgreSQL 16, Redis 7, application servers, and reverse proxies (Caddy)
- Set up and operate observability tooling: structured logging, metrics, alerting, and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry)
- Implement and tune autoscaling, load balancing, and caching strategies for the redirect path
- Manage Docker-based local development environments and ensure dev/prod parity
- Harden production security: secret management, network policies, TLS configuration, dependency scanning
- Plan and execute database maintenance: backups, failover, migration rollout strategies
- Collaborate with backend engineers on performance tuning and capacity planning
What we’re looking for
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering roles
- Strong experience with Docker, container orchestration, and Linux systems administration
- Hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL and Redis in production
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines — GitHub Actions or similar
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Pulumi, or Ansible)
- Solid understanding of networking: DNS, TLS, HTTP caching, CDNs, load balancing
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or similar)
- Scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
Nice to have
- Experience operating high-throughput, low-latency services (URL shorteners, ad tech, CDNs)
- Familiarity with Caddy server configuration and automatic TLS
- Experience with custom domain management and wildcard TLS certificates at scale
- Knowledge of ClickHouse or other analytical databases
- Background in multi-tenant SaaS infrastructure
